Presenting… Project Loser!
It’s about time I uploaded this.
This my friends, is the result of a last minute video assignment for our Visual Effects module during our Multimedia Software Engineering course (now known as Multimedia Technology) while in Singapore Polytechnic. Oh and when I say ‘our’ I mean Farhan, Raizan, Shah, Andy and I.
Our group was the last to actually even start working on it. We shot the whole thing in two days I think and just spent the rest of the time editing. It’s pretty amateurish. Production standard is quite low actually. Not enough lighting in some scenes and also the audio quality is just bad. The voiceover narration can be improved as well. But all in all, I have to say we are actually quite proud of it. We’re actually planning to redo ALL the audio for the video. Less popping and clearer. Also we’re hoping to get our resident writer, Zhaki, to rewrite the narration to be more concise and hopefully funnier or something. Unfortunately we’ve lost the source video so we can’t salvage the video quality which totally sucks.
Nonetheless, the UsDudes have tons of ideas for new shorts and spoofs. The only thing holding us back is well, we don’t have a digital camcorder. I’m working on changing that though so stay tuned for that. In the mean time though, please enjoy our short film, Project Loser. Oh and please be kind with your comments. The short was made in 2001 so it’s 4 years old.

Oh man…. I actually just watched it again properly and man this video is hilarious! It’s so crappy… you can clearly see I’m actually holding on to that green stick thing.. ahahahhaa…
the lighting is very very poor and the bass is really overpowering on the audio… hmm… but man were there some good camera angles. ahaha… awesome cinematography even if i do say so myself… hee. Well, for a last minute school project anyway.
Mad props to all the extras! and hooray for free sound effects. *abish*

AWESOME MOVIE. I am very very impressed. hur hur hur. although, i can’t figure out why shah (i think he’s the one acting as the loser?) slept with his glasses on, though. hur hur hur. and why sleep in a sarong? very dangerous on drafty nights. hur hur hur.

haha.. no costumes cept for the checkered shirt.. and for one scene even used his dad’s checkered shirt.. haha..

(and I must say that fairly geeky people would understand the movie. ie people who actually comes here.. hahahh.
And we also understand the technical deficiencies that you guys faced (it was kinda dark.)

Gollum huh? haha.. how precious. Did it ever occur to you that I didnt watch it alone?
One more thing, it was kinda weird (good weird) hearing the monologue, coz it sounds so singaporean..

Wasn’t sure if it’d be ok to post my comments but I just had to say WOW! that was impressive! And I really like what you guys did with the camera angles, the monologue and the street fighter life meter. Really really impressive.

I just watched the video (yes, I’m slow) and it was awesome guys! Seriously, i really enjoyed it. Oh and I loved the scene of him being chased along the corridors. Great shot! I had headphones on as I was watching it so I’m sure my housemates are convinced that I’m mad . . . laughing in my room all by myself with nothing playing in the background . . . .Wahahahahah!
